hi, i'm masumah! i design with intention, curiosity, and craft in mind.

i started college as a neuroscience major, fully planning to go to med school. about two years in, i realized what i actually cared about wasn't medicine — it was building things that change how people move through the world.

art had been doing that in my life since i was a kid, so i went looking for the overlap, and then i found design. i used to say i was in love with the art of solving a problem, and that's still mostly the pitch.

these days i'm the lead designer at Pilotly, a SaaS market research platform, where i'm the sole designer on a small team delivering for clients like Amazon, Disney, and Netflix.

outside of work, i paint about the intersection of south asian and western culture, spirituality, and the earth. also love lifting, have recently taken up lagree (The Best), and am simultaneously going through my Maps list of restaurants in LA.

say hi if you want to talk design, art, or anything in between.

  • Led the Sentiment Analysis redesign and built a 6-phase engineering handoff process that pulled eng in six weeks earlier, driving +76% page views, +105% users, and 29% faster time-on-page growth vs. legacy.
  • Built an AI-native design-to-engineering pipeline (unified Figma + code tokens, auto-generated component docs, Figma MCP prototyping), compressing the design phase by ~50%.
  • Led the Survey Editor redesign, shipping a document-style editor that unlocked new methodologies and eliminated engineering as a dependency for researcher feature requests.
  • Shipped 10+ design-authored UI PR's to production code as a non-engineer, freeing engineering bandwidth from visual polish.
  • Established Pilotly's first design system in partnership with engineering, defining components, governance rules, and contribution guidelines on a codebase not built to support one.
  • Designed Pilotly's first consumer-facing respondent experience for CTV and mobile, extending the reach of every fielded study beyond desktop.
  • Redesigned pilotly.com directly with the CEO, defining brand guidelines, value propositions, and public positioning; owned product marketing surfaces (LinkedIn content calendar, feature launch videos, sales collateral).
